Leben

Richard J. Kloster besuchte von September 1976 bis Mai 1977 das William Rainey Harper College in Palatine (Illinois). Danach war er bis zum August 1980 in der Northern Illinois University in DeKalb (Illinois) eingeschrieben und erlangte eine Bachelor in Betriebswirtschaft.

Von Oktober 1980 bis August 1985 arbeitete er bei der Chicago and Northwestern Transportation Company in verschiedenen Verwaltungsbereichen. 1986 erlange er an der University of Alabama seinen Master in Marketing.^[1]

Ab August 1986 bis Juni 1987 arbeitete er bei der Chicago Central and Pacific Railroad als Vizepräsident für Marketing und Verkauf. Von Juli 1987 bis April 1989 war er bei der Indiana Railroad im Marketing beschäftigt. Anschließend war er bis Februar 1991 erneut bei der C&NW im Bereich Lebensmittelproduktion tätig. Von 1991 bis Juli 2007 arbeitete er bei GE Rail Services. Zuletzt war er dort Direktor für Business and Market Intelligence.

Im Juli 2007 gründete er das Beratungsunternehmens Advanced Rail Equipment Solutions, Inc. (zunächst unter dem Namen North American Transport Solutions). In der Funktion als Präsident agierte er dort bis zum Oktober 2012. Gleichzeitig war er von Januar 2008 bis November 2019 als Berater bei Freight Transportation Research Associates, Inc. (FTR) tätig. Von Oktober 2012 bis November 2019 war er Senior Vice President und Chief Commercial Officer beim Dienstleistungs- und Beratungsunternehmen Alltranstek.

Seit November 2019 ist er Präsident des von ihm gegründeten Unternehmens Integrity Rail Partners. Von 2005 bis 2007 und von 2012 bis 2025 war er im Aufsichtsrat des Lobbyunternehmens National Industrial Transportation League, davon im Zeitraum 2021 bis 2025 als Mitglied des Executive Boards und als Schatzmeister. Von 2019 bis 2021 war im Aufsichtsrat des Beratungs- und Lobbyunternehmens Railway Supply Institute (RSI).

Am 11. September 2025 wurde er von Präsident Donald Trump für den Sitz von Martin J. Oberman in der Aufsichts- und Regulierungsbehörde Surface Transportation Board nominiert. Da bis zum 3. Januar 2026 keine Bestätigung durch das Senatskomitee erfolgte, wurde die Nominierung an den Präsidenten zurückverwiesen und am 13. Januar 2026 erneut an den Senat übermittelt.

Er ist verheiratet und hat drei Kinder.

Leben

Sie studierte 1982 bis 1986 an der University of Saskatchewan und schloss mit einem Bachelor of Commerce ab. Ab 1986 arbeitete sie bei der kanadischen Bahngesellschaft Canadian Pacific Railway. Zunächst arbeitete sie im Verkauf in Regina. In der Folge stieg sie im Management des Unternehmens auf. Von 1996 bis 1998 studierte sie an der Wharton School of Business der University of Pennsylvania. Dieses Studium beendete sie mit einem Master of Business Administration. Vom Januar 2005 bis zum August 2008 war sie Vice President und Treasurer (Schatzmeister). Ab Juli 2010 bis zum Februar 2014 war sie als Vice President für den Bereich Marketing und Verkauf verantwortlich.

2014 wechselte sie zum Pipeline-Betreiber TC Energy. Auch hier übernahm sie mehrere Positionen im höheren Management. Ab September 2018 war sie Executive Vice President. Ab Dezember 2018 war sie gleichzeitig Präsident der Tochterunternehmen Canadian Natural Gas Pipelines und Coastal GasLink.

Nachdem der frühere President und CEO der Canadian National Railway Jean-Jacques Ruest vom Mehrheitseigentümer TCI zum Rücktritt aufgefordert wurde, wurde Robinson zum Präsidenten und CEO der Bahngesellschaft ab dem 1. März 2022 ernannt.

Executive Vice-President and President, Canadian Natural Gas Pipelines and President, Coastal GasLink As Executive Vice-President and President, Canadian Natural Gas Pipelines, Tracy Robinson has overall accountability for the growth, operation and profitability of TC Energy’s federally and provincially regulated natural gas pipeline assets in Canada. Ms. Robinson is also President of Coastal GasLink, with overall accountability for all aspects of the project including project execution, stakeholder relations and commercial management. Since joining TC Energy in 2014, Ms. Robinson has served as Vice-President, Transportation for the Liquid Pipelines business unit; Vice-President, Supply Chain; and Senior Vice-President and General Manager, Canadian Natural Gas Pipelines. Prior to joining TC Energy, Ms. Robinson spent 27 years at Canadian Pacific, including executive roles spanning Operations, Finance and Commercial. Ms. Robinson has held a number of industry and private board positions, currently serving as a member of the Business Council of British Columbia and a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council at the Edward’s School of Business of the University of Saskatchewan. She is also the chair of the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association’s Executive Board for 2020-2021 and represents TC Energy on the Board of the Canadian Gas Association. Ms. Robinson holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Saskatchewan. She received her Institute of Corporate Directors designation in 2015.

Ms. Barry. Welcome. On behalf of WTS Boston and the New England Railroad Club I am happy to introduce our guest speaker tonight – Tracy Robinson. Tracy Robinson was appointed Vice-President, Marketing and Sales, Coal and Sulpher in October 2010. Tracy’s priority and focus is to advance CP’s relationships and integration of services across these supply chains. One example of this focus is the implementation of the largest agreement in CP’s history. Tracy also leads CP’s internal strategies and initiatives to deliver new efficiencies in the rail mode, identify the appropriate investments to support growth in coal and develop best practices for use across CP.

Prior to her current role, Tracy held a variety of positions within CP in Marketing and Sales, Finance, Asset Management, Product Design and Customer Service. Most recently these included Vice President Carload Sales, Vice President Marketing, Vice President & Treasurer, and Assistant Vice President Customer Service.
