Catherine Boone

Catherine Boone (* 1958[1]) ist eine US-amerikanische Politikwissenschaftlerin, die als Professorin an der London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) forscht und lehrt.[2] 2020 wurde sie in die American Academy of Arts and Sciences gewählt,[3] 2021 als Fellow (FBA) in die British Academy.[4]
Boone war 1979 Research Fellow und Austauschstudentin der University of California, San Diego an der University of Nairobi in Kenia. Ihren Bachelor-Abschluss machte sie 1981 in San Diego (Hauptfach Politikwissenschaft). Ihre Promotion zur Ph.D. folgte am Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Danach hielt sie sich zu Forschungszwecken in Dakar (Senegal) auf. Von 1990 bis 2006 war sie Assistant und Associate Professor of Government an der University of Texas at Austin, unterbrochen von Gastprofessuren in Peking und Mexiko-Stadt. Seit 2013 ist sie Professorin an der LSE.[5] Ihr Fachgebiet ist die Vergleichende Politikwissenschaft unter besonderer Berücksichtigung Afrikas.[2]
