Joseph C. Miller

Joseph Calder Miller (* 30. April 1939 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; † 12. März 2019[1]) war ein US-amerikanischer Historiker und Professor der University of Virginia. 1998 amtierte er als Präsident der American Historical Association (AHA), 2018 wurde er in die American Academy of Arts and Sciences gewählt[2].
Miller machte 1961 das Bachelor-Examen an der Wesleyan University und 1963 den Master-Abschluss an der Northwestern University. Einen weiteren Master-Abschluss erwarb er 1967 an der University of Wisconsin–Madison, wo er 1972 zum Ph.D. promoviert wurde. Im selben Jahr ging er an die University of Virginia, wo er seither forschte und lehrte. Sein Forschungsschwerpunkt war die Geschichte Afrikas.
