Nur Masalha

Masalha wurde 1957 in Galiläa geboren. Er erlangte 1979 einen Bachelor-Abschluss in Internationale Beziehungen und Politik sowie 1983 einen Master-Abschluss in Politik an der Hebräischen Universität Jerusalem. Er promovierte an der SOAS University of London in Middle Eastern Politics; seinen PhD erlangte er 1988.

Von 1989 bis 1994 war er Constantine Zureik Research Fellow am Institute for Palestine Studies in Washington, D.C. Von 1993 bis 1997 war Masalha Honory Fellow am Center for Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies der University of Durham. Zusätzlich war er 1994/95 Assistant Professor für Moderne Geschichte des Mittleren Ostens an der Universität Bir Zait. Von 1997 bis 2000 war er Dozent an der Richmond American University London. 2000/01 war er Gastdozent und 2001/02 Research Fellow am Fachbereich Theologie und Religionswissenschaft der St Mary’s University, Twickenham. Von 2000 bis 2004 war er Research Associate am Center of Islamic and Middle Eastern Law der SOAS.^[1] Er war seit 2001 Direktor des Holy Land Research Project und seit 2007 Direktor des Zentrums für Religion und Geschichte der St Mary’s University.^[2] Anschließend wurde er assoziiertes Mitglied am Center for Palestine Studies der SOAS.^[3]

Masalha ist Herausgeber des Journal of Holy Land and Palestine Studies.^[3]
