Penny Summerfield

Penelope "Penny" Summerfield (* 11. November 1951[1]) ist eine britische Historikerin und emeritierte Professorin der University of Manchester.[2] 2020 wurde sie zum Fellow (FBA) der British Academy gewählt.[3]
Summerfield übernahm im Jahr 2000 Professur für Neuere Geschichte an der University of Manchester. Vorher war sie seit 1978 an der Lancaster University tätig, davon seit 1994 als Professorin für Frauengeschichte. In ihrer Forschung befasst sie sich vor allem mit den Erfahrungen von britischen Frauen im Zweiten Weltkrieg.[2]
