Sven Biscop

Sven Biscop (* 10. Februar 1976 in Willebroek[1]) ist ein belgischer Politikwissenschaftler und Professor an der Universität Gent.[2] Zudem ist er seit dem 1. Oktober 2025 Generaldirektor von Egmont. Royal Institute for International Relations in Brüssel.[3]
Werdegang
Nach seinen Sekundarschulabschluss am Royal Atheneum Pitzemburg in Mechelen (1994) studierte Biscop Politikwissenschaft an der Universität Gent, 1998 erwarb er dort das Lizenziat und bildete sich danach am Netherlands lnstitute for International Relations auf dem Landgoed Clingendael fort. 2002 wurde in Gent promoviert. 2009 wurde er Projektdirektor am Egmont-Institut und 2016 Professor an der Universität Gent. Er ist Fellow an verschiedenen europäischen Sicherheitsinstituten, wie beispielsweise dem Austria Institut für Europa- und Sicherheitspolitik (AIES).[4]
2017 wurde Biscop das Große Ehrenzeichen für Verdienste um die Republik Österreich verliehen.[5]
