Thavolia Glymph

Thavolia Glymph (* 1. April 1951[1]) ist eine US-amerikanische Historikerin und Professorin an der Duke University.[2] 2024 amtierte sie als Präsidentin der American Historical Association (AHA).[3] Sie ist Mitglied der American Academy of Arts and Sciences.[4]

Glymph machte 1973 ihren Bachelor-Abschluss an der Hampton University und 1975 das Master-Examen an der Purdue University. Dort wurde sie 1994 zur Ph.D. promoviert.[2] Als Historikerin der US-Südstaaten forscht sie besonders zu Geschichte der Sklaverei und des amerikanischen Bürgerkriegs.[4]
2021 wurde sie für ihr Buch The Women’s Fight: The Civil War’s Battles for Home, Freedom, and Nation mit dem Beveridge Family Prize in American History ausgezeichnet.[5]
