The 1997 Meta Styrian Open was a women's tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts at the Sportpark Piberstein in Maria Lankowitz in Austria that was part of the Tier IV category of the 1997 WTA Tour. It was the 25th edition of the tournament and was held from 28 July through 3 August 1997. Fifth-seeded Barbara Schett won the singles title.[1]
