Ansião (Portuguese pronunciation: [ɐ̃siˈɐ̃w] ⓘ) is a Portuguese municipality in the historical Beira Litoral province, in Central Region and district of Leiria. The population in 2011 was 13,128,[1] in an area of 176.09 km2 (67.99 sq mi).[2]

As of 2025,[update] the mayor is António José Domingues, elected by the Socialist Party. The municipal holiday is Ascension Day.

International relations
Ansião is twinned with the cities of Erbach in Germany, the Brazilian cities of Santos and São Vicente, and Mosteiros in the Cape Verdian Islands.[4]
