Athanasios Ghavelas (born 19 December 1999) is a Greek Paralympic athlete who specializes in the 100 metres dash. He represented Greece at the Paralympic Games, along with his guide Sotiris Garaganis.[3] He was named the Best Greek male athlete with a disability of the Year for 2021 and 2023.[4][5]

Career

Ghavelas represented Greece at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in the 100 metres T11 event and won the gold medal with a world record time of 10.82.[6] At the 2024 Summer Paralympics, in Paris, France, Ghavelas won the gold medal in the 100m (T11).[7]

His hails is from Strofylia, Euboea[8]
