Barabinsky District

Barabinsky District (Russian: Бара́бинский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the thirty in Novosibirsk Oblast, Russia.[2] Its administrative center is the town of Barabinsk (which is not administratively a part of the district).[6] Population: 14,169 (2010 Census);[3] 17,126 (2002 census);[7] 18,279 (1989 Soviet census).[8]

Geography
Administrative and municipal status
Within the framework of administrative divisions, Barabinsky District is one of the thirty in the oblast.[1] The town of Barabinsk serves as its administrative center,[1] despite being incorporated separately as an administrative unit with the status equal to that of the districts.[6]
As a municipal division, the district is incorporated as Barabinsky Municipal District, with the Town of Barabinsk being incorporated within it as Barabinsk Urban Settlement.[4]
