Daniel Mérida Aguilar is a Spanish professional tennis player. He has a career-high ATP singles ranking of No. 135 achieved on 16 March 2026 and a doubles ranking of No. 1,589 reached on 23 September 2024.[1][2]

Mérida plays mostly on the ATP Challenger Tour, where he won two singles titles.
Junior career
Mérida had good results on the ITF junior circuit, maintaining a 77–33 singles win-loss record.[citation needed] He reached the boys' singles quarterfinal at the 2021 French Open, where he lost to 13th seed and eventual champion Luca Van Assche.[3] Later that season, he reached a third round at the US Open, losing to top-seed and eventual runner-up Shang Juncheng.[citation needed]
Mérida repeated his best result in junior majors at the 2022 edition of French Open, losing to tenth seed Dino Prižmić.[4][5]
He reached an ITF junior combined ranking of No. 15 on 3 January 2022.[6]
Professional career
2021-24: First professional matches, Futures titles
In October 2021, Mérida won his first pro title at the "Copa Alameda" in Madrid, a M15-level event. He defeated compatriot Diego Augusto Barreto in the final.[7][8]
The following season, Mérida earned his second Futures title at the M15 Valldoreix in May. He defeated top-seed Oriol Roca Batalla in straight sets.[9]
Mérida also earned titles at the 2024 season, in Antalya[10] and Madrid.[11]
2025: ATP debut, first Challenger title
Mérida made his ATP Tour debut in doubles at the 2025 Qatar Open, having been awarded a wildcard with Mubarak Al-Harrasi.[12] The pair lost 3–6, 4–6 to Yuki Bhambri and Ivan Dodig.[citation needed]
In July, he won his first Challenger title at Open de Pozoblanco, a home tournament, defeating sixth seed Sun Fajing in the final.[13][14][15]
