1977–2006

In the 2006, 2001, 1996 and 1991 Anisur Rahman of CPI(M) won the Domkal assembly seat defeating his nearest rival Rejaul Karim of Congress in 2006[4] and 2001,[5] Sadeque Reza of Congress in 1996[6] and Sarker Mokter Hossain in 1991.[7] Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. Md Abdul Bari of CPI(M) defeated Ekramul Hoque Biswas of Congress in 1987,[8] A.K.M.Hazekul Alam of IUML in 1982[9] and Ekramul Hoque Biswas of Congress in 1977.[10][11]

1967–1972

Ekramul Hoque Biswas of Congress won in 1972.[12] Md. Abdul Bari of CPI(M) won in 1971.[13] Ekramul Hoque Biswas of Congress won in 1969.[14] Md. Abdul Bari of CPI(M) won in 1967.[15] Prior to that the Domkal seat was not there.
