Background and Career
Investment Banking
After graduating from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance (Honours), Andrew started his career at Deloitte, working for six years in the assurance and advisory practice, ultimately being promoted to Manager. Andrew holds both the Chartered Professional Accountant and the Chartered Business Valuator designations.
In early 2006, Andrew joined Capital West as an Associate and is now one of four Partners at the firm.[3] Andrew advises business owners across various industries on completing M&A transactions such as divestitures, acquisitions, capital raises, and fairness opinions. He frequently speaks at events such as the Business Transitions Forum Vancouver to share insights and advice on how to navigate M&A transactions. Andrew has been an advisor to Business Transitions Forum Vancouver since it was founded in 2015 [4], and chaired the conference in 2022.[5]

Andrew has led many award-winning M&A deals, including four that have received awards at ACG BC's Dealmakers of the Year Awards, an event that recognizes "significant achievements of corporations, entrepreneurs, financiers and service providers who participate actively in merger and acquisition activity"[6]

Hockey
Prior to his investment banking career, Andrew played ice hockey for the UBC Thunderbirds while during his time at the university and is an active member of the alumni.[9] In his earlier career, he played in the WHL for the Saskatoon Blades and Seattle Thunderbirds, and also played for the Kansas City Blades of the IHL and the Mobile Mysticks of the ECHL.[10] [11]
Community Involvement and Personal Life
Andrew remains an active member of the hockey community and acted as a Coach and Hockey Committee member of the North Shore Winter Club from 2007 through to 2018.[12]
He currently resides in North Vancouver, BC with his wife and has two adult children.
