Anja Popp is a British journalist and reporter for Channel 4 News. Her work has focused on current affairs and human interest stories, for which she has received several industry awards.

Early life and education
Popp studied Comparative Literature at Queen Mary University of London. She went on to earn an MA in Broadcast Journalism from City, University of London in 2013. In interviews, Popp has stated that she chose a career in journalism because of her interest in people, believing that everyone has a story to tell.
Career
Popp began her career at 'Channel 4 News in 2014, starting as an intern in Washington D.C. She later held positions as a guest booker and producer in the UK before becoming a reporter in 2018.
She has worked on current affairs documentaries for programmes such as Dispatches, On Assignment and Exposure, including a six-week assignment as an undercover reporter. Popp co-owns the record label UltraViolet.
Popp is known for her coverage of human interest stories and has emphasised the importance of accurate and fair storytelling, particularly when dealing with sensitive topics such as mental health issues. Her work has included reports on homelessness, the experiences of trans teenagers, and justice issues.
In 2020, her film on Femicide in Mexico was nominated for an RTS award. She also produced a 10-minute film about Lindy Louise Pring, a homeless woman whose death in Cardiff prompted a significant social media response and was shortlisted for the Orwell Prize.
