Comment: As per previous reviewer, still reads WAY too much like an advertisement, as do a lot of the sources cited. It would be a lot easier to approve this draft if it was written in a neutral tone, and used more straight news type sources rather than puff pieces. History
Castlery was established in 2013 in Singapore as an online-only furniture business operating out of a 900-square-foot factory basement warehouse in Ubi.[2] The company adopted a direct-to-consumer model to manage production and oversee quality control while reducing reliance on intermediaries.[1]
The company later expanded from an online-only model to include physical showrooms in Singapore and overseas.
Milestones
In 2014, Castlery opened their first overseas sourcing office in Shenzhen.[3]
In 2017, the company launched Castlery Feat, a collection developed with six international design teams: British designers James Harrison and Phil Procter, Australian designer Charles Wilson, Italian designer Paolo Cappello, Polish designer Krystian Kowalski, and the Spanish duo Clara del Portillo and Alex Selma from the studio Yonoh.[4]
In 2021, the company was listed by SimilarWeb as one of the fastest-growing digital home furniture companies in the United States with website traffic of 8.4 million, a year-over-year increase of 1,989%.[5]
In 2022, Castlery opened a 100,000-square-foot regional distribution center in New Jersey.[6]
In 2023, the company reached its 10th year of operations and reported the sale of its one millionth product since its founding.[7]
Overseas expansion
Castlery expanded internationally in 2017 with the launch of its digital store in Australia, followed by its entry into the United States market in 2019.[1]
In April 2025, the company expanded into Canada, introducing e-commerce operations across Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary.[8]
In July 2025, Castlery launched its e-commerce platform in the United Kingdom and opened a pop-up at the London Design Festival in September, marking its entry into the European market.[9]
Showrooms
In 2015, Castlery opened its first Experience Center at Delta House, expanding its showroom space from 7,000 to 12,000-square-feet.[2]
In 2018, the company relocated to an 11,000-square-foot showroom in Jit Poh building in Tanjong Pagar.[3]
In 2021, Castlery opened a flagship showroom at Liat Towers on Orchard Road in Singapore. The two-storey showroom spans approximately 24,000-square-feet and displays over 500 furniture items.[3]
In 2024, the company opened a showroom at Supa Centa Moore Park in Sydney, Australia. The 6,200-square-foot space includes 17 room settings.[10][11]
In August 2025, Castlery opened a second showroom in Australia, located in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.[12]
Operations and infrastructure
Logistics and supply chain management
Castlery manages aspects of its design, supply chain, and delivery operations internally. As of 2025, the company operates in over 100 cities across Singapore, Australia, the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.[13]
In February 2025, Castlery signed a 10-year agreement with logistics provider Maersk to provide end-to-end solutions covering ocean freight, intermodal transportation, distribution, and warehousing.[14]
Payments
Castlery adopted Stripe Terminal across its online and offline channels to support payment processing and reconciliation. Following initial implementation in Singapore and Australia, the system was expanded to the United States in 2019. The company also implemented Stripe Radar, including the use of 3-D Secure 2 for high-risk transactions.[15]
Awards and recognition
Castlery has received design and consumer awards in Singapore and internationally.
In 2026, Castlery received three iF Design Award recognitions in the product design category for the Mori Sofa Collection, the Lira Performance Fabric Dining Chair, and the Hugg Coffee Table Collection.[16][17]
In November 2025, the company received Japan’s Good Design Award (G-Mark) for the Hugg Collection, which includes coffee tables with nested ottomans.[18][19]
The company’s products have also been featured in international media. The Jonathan Leather Sofa was named “Best Leather Couch” by Forbes Vetted in 2025,[20] and the Dalton Storage Bed Frame was listed in the Esquire Home Awards 2024.[21]
Since 2020, Castlery has been ranked among top furniture and home décor brands in Expat Living Singapore’s annual Readers’ Choice Awards.[22][23][24][25][26][27]
