Cat Sebastian is an American novelist, known for her works of queer historical romance. Her novel We Could Be So Good won the 2024 Lambda Literary Award for Gay Romance.

Early life
Cat Sebastian was born in New Jersey.[1] Prior to her career as a writer, she was a lawyer and a teacher.[1]
Career
Sebastian began "seriously writing" in her 30s.[2] Her debut novel, The Soldier's Scoundrel was published in 2016 by Avon Impulse.
Unmasked by the Marquess, the first book in Sebastian's "Regency Imposter" series, is a reimagining of Frederica by Georgette Heyer.[3]: 250 It Takes Two to Tumble was loosely inspired by The Sound of Music.[3]: 253
Two Rogues Make a Right was a finalist for the 2021 Lambda Literary Award for Gay Romance.[4]
The Queer Principles of Kitt Webb, set during the Georgian era and featuring a romance between a highwayman and an aristocrat, was released on June 8th 2021.[5] The second novel in her "London Highwayman" series, The Perfect Crimes of Marian Hayes, was published the following year.[6]
In 2024, her novel We Could be So Good won the Lambda Literary Award for Gay Romance.[7] It was also named one of the "Best Romances of 2023" by The New York Times,[8] and featured in their "100 Notable Books of 2023" list.[9]
