The Irkutsk Cossacks were founded in 1816. Another source states that the Irkutsk Cossacks, like the Yenisei Cossacks, were formed from Siberian servicemen, among whom according to the 1725 regulations there were over 8,000 Cossacks[1]. The military headquarters was in Irkutsk.
