Koppert is the writer and host of the Fortean News Podcast. Fortean News Podcast is in the top 3% of global podcasts [1] and has been featured in the Top Paranormal Podcast list by the Million Podcast magzine [2]. It has also been in the Player FM 'Top Fortean Podcasts' top five list every year since its release
He is a paranormal investigator and is renowned for carrying out solo investigations in some of the most haunted locations [3]
James is a content creator showing his paranormal investigations, telling ghost stories, folklore and High Strangeness with some videos having over half a million views [4]

Poetry
James is an active performance poet known for his engaging performances and thoughtful socio-political commentary. In 2025 he co-headlined a poetry performance at the Stephen Joseph Theatre alongside Charlotte Oliver, Felix Hodcroft and Helen Birmingham [6]. He has also performed with Ian McMillan, Attila The Stockbroker and many more.
James has also spent decades running workshops and lessons to children and young people on writing poetry and rap [7].

James is the vocalist for hardcore punk band Jenkem Revolt and used to sing for Our Own, Belligerent Declaration and Moon Chicken [8]. He has also guested on releases from Pony Club and the song 'The Abandonment of...Ego!' by The Irrepressibles
ADHD and Neurodiversity
James hosts the Koppert ADHD Podcast. He is an activist for equity for people with ADHD, particularly for children and young people. He runs training and lectures on ADHD at universities, schools and in the community. He is a regular keynote speaker at conferences, particularly for professionals working in education.

James was born in South West London and remains a fanatical Chelsea supporter. He is and has been on the board of a number of charities and is involved in charitable work, particularly for disabled people. survivors of abuse and the arts. He is outspoken on many issues and described himself as an anarcho syndicalist. He lives on the Yorkshire Coast with his children and girlfriend.
