Background and Career

Paul has 30 years of investment banking experience. Early in his career, he worked in London, England, in the M&A groups of Citibank and Morgan Stanley. He then worked with CIBC Capital Markets in Vancouver, BC and Calgary, Alberta.[4] At CIBC Capital Markets, he was a Managing Director and his roles included leading investment banking activities in Western Canada in the Power, Pipeline & Utilities sectors. In 2010, Paul joined Capital West Partners, where he is a co-owner of the firm.

Board Involvement

Paul is a Board Member of the PA Woodward Foundation, which supports initiatives in healthcare in British Columbia. [7] He was previously on the Board of Providence Health Care, which operates numerous healthcare facilities in the Vancouver area, including St. Paul's Hospital. [5]

Education and Extracurriculars

Paul graduated from the University of British Columbia ("UBC") with a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours, majoring in Finance. He also has a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Paul represented Canada in 1988 on the 18 & Under baseball team, which competed in several international tournaments. He also played for the National Baseball Institute, a university baseball academy, for three years, followed by a year on the UBC varsity basketball team, the UBC Thunderbirds, for the 1991-92 season.[8]
