  • Comment: assorted business profiles, directory entries and other primary sources do not contribute to notability. Theroadislong (talk) 12:56, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
  • Comment: Different languages of Wikipedia have different standards, having an article in one does not necessarily justify inclusion in another. The quality of cited sources here is not optimistic, with most being materials published by the subject itself, or cooperating organizations announcing events that saw the participation of the subject. Entries in databases and trivial mentions in the news do not help the case of notability either. The overall tone is also far from neutral. Tutwakhamoe (talk) 00:37, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
  • Comment: To the reviwer: This article is a sentence-by-sentence translation from the Hebrew article, with added sources. It is about one of the known Nonprofit organization in Israel.
It is comply with the specific notability guideline for Nonprofit organization, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources

History

Ruach Tova was established in 1996 by Irit Atzmon and several partners. In 2002, Rafi Elul was appointed as the organization’s chairman. In 2003, it began receiving support from The Ted Arison Family Foundation. Since 2008, it has operated under the umbrella of the Arison Group.[5]

Volunteering Platform

Ruach Tova maintains a national volunteering database that includes opportunities from nonprofit organizations, public institutions, and community initiatives across Israel. The organization facilitates connections between volunteers and institutions via its website and a call center. Users can search for opportunities by location, area of interest, and time commitment.[6][7]

The organization also works with businesses through its Corporate Volunteering Department, helping companies organize employee volunteering programs. Additional outreach efforts target local authorities and municipal bodies, including those serving the Arab population in Israel.[8]

Social Cohesion Program

In 2018, Ruach Tova began operating the Social Cohesion Program, in collaboration with the Merhavim Institute and with support from The Ted Arison Family Foundation.[9][10] The program brings together representatives from the public, private, and nonprofit sectors to participate in initiatives aimed at promoting social solidarity.[11][12][11]

Design for Change

Since 2011, Ruach Tova has overseen the Israeli chapter of Design for Change, an international educational initiative focused on youth-led social impact projects.[13] The program, active in dozens of countries, encourages students to create projects addressing issues such as environmental sustainability, violence prevention, and health promotion. In Israel, the program is implemented in schools with the recommendation of the Ministry of Education.[14]

Good Deeds Day

Ruach Tova coordinates Good Deeds Day, an international volunteering initiative that originated in Israel in 2007.[15] The project was initiated by Shari Arison and aims to promote civic engagement through acts of kindness. What began as a national event has expanded to global participation, with reported activities in over 115 countries.[16][17]

Although initially framed as a one-day event, the initiative has evolved to include year-round programming.[18][19][20]

Kulanana Initiative Between 2014 and 2018, Ruach Tova managed the Kulanana Initiative in partnership with the Merhavim Institute.[22][23][24] The project aimed to promote shared citizenship and social equity through collaboration among nonprofits. After the initiative concluded in 2018, elements of its mission were incorporated into the newer Social Cohesion Program.[25][26]
