Tara Yoro (born 25 December 1997) is a Dutch track and field athlete who specialises in the long jump. She became national champion in the long jump at the 2017 Indoor Championships and 2020 Indoor Championships and represented the Netherlands two times at European Championships.

Personal life
Tara Yoro was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands.[1] Her father is from Ivory Coast, who moved to Paris, France and later to the Netherlands. Her mother is from the Netherlands. Much of her family from Ivory Coast emigrated, and only his grandmother is still living there.[2]
She comes from a sporting family. Her father played football in Ivory Coast and her mother was involved in gymnastics. Her brother , Serge Yoro, is a Dutch speed skater. Her niece is Dutch international volleyball player Nika Daalderop.[3][4]
Yoro studied Fiscal Economics at the University of Amsterdam, and received her masters degree during her athletics career.[1][3]
Career
She began athletics at the age of six at AV 1923. Yoro initially competed in a wide range of events as a youth athlete, setting several club records in sprinting, relays, long jump, and triple jump. Around the age of fourteen, she specialised in the long jump.[1][4]
Her breakthrough came at junior level when she won the silver medal at the Dutch junior championships.[3][4]
She won her first national senior title at the 2017 Indoor Championships. She represented the Netherlands at the 2017 European Athletics Team Championships in the long jump event in Lille. In 2020, she won another national indoor title at the 2020 Dutch Indoor Athletics Championships with a jump of 6.19 metres.[1][4]
Yoro has consistently competed at the top level nationally and has represented the Netherlands two times at the European Athletics Team Championships.[1] Next to her two national titles, she won the silver medal at both the 2018 Dutch Athletics Championships and 2018 Dutch Indoor Athletics Championships and at the 2019 Dutch Athletics Championships and furthermore the bronze medal at the 2021 Dutch Indoor Athletics Championships and 2022 Dutch Athletics Championships.[5]
Training
Yoro has trained with several coaches throughout her career and later joined a training group led by Guido Bonsen at Phanos in Amsterdam. She has also been part of mixed training groups including both able-bodied and para-athletes, aimed at improving performance through collaboration.[1]
Her training schedule has included up to nine sessions per week, focusing on sprinting, strength, and jumping technique.[3]
