Terry Hui is a Canadian businessman. He is the president and chief executive officer of Concord Pacific Developments Inc., a Vancouver-based real estate development and investment company.[1]

He is known for his role in the redevelopment of former industrial lands in Canada, including the former Expo 86 lands in Vancouver and the Concord CityPlace development in Toronto.[1][2][dead link]

Early life and education

Hui was born in Hong Kong and later moved to California, where he completed high school.[1] He attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in physics in 1983.[1] He later completed a master's degree in electrical engineering at Santa Clara University.[1]

He moved to Vancouver in 1985.[1]

Career

After graduate school, Hui worked with a family development business in Vancouver, contributing to residential projects including Cambridge Gardens near City Square.[1]

In the early 1990s, Hong Kong businessman Li Ka-shing acquired the former Expo 86 lands through Concord Pacific, and a controlling interest in the company was later sold to the Hui family.[1] In 1992, Hui became chief executive officer of Concord Pacific at age 29.[1]

Under Hui's leadership, Concord Pacific redeveloped the northern shore of False Creek in Vancouver.[1] The broader False Creek North redevelopment included adding housing, parks, schools, childcare facilities, retail space, and public waterfront access.[3][dead link]

Hui has served as a director of the Metro Vancouver Board of Trade.[1]
