History

Unified MMA operated mixed martial arts events under the old promotion name, Adrenaline MMA before MMA was officially legalized in the province of Alberta. In 2009, the promotion was founded by Sunny Sareen.[2]

Unified MMA held its inaugural Adrenaline MMA 1: Mitch Clarke vs. Travis Briere event on October 2, 2009 at Mirage Banquet Hall in Edmonton, Alberta.[3]

Today, Unified Mixed Martial Arts is one of Canada's most successful MMA promotions, having hosted 68 events and presided over approximately 537 matches.[4]

Unified MMA officially announced its partnership to stream on UFC Fight Pass on December 1, 2020. The promotion’s debut event on the platform, Unified MMA 40, was subsequently held on August 14, 2021, following a hiatus in activity due to pandemic restrictions.[5]

In December 2025, Unified MMA lost its deal with UFC Fight Pass along with 4 other regional promotions. As of February 2026, Unified Now has its own streaming service that fans can subscribe to, Unified Plus.[6][7]
