Development

Union Omaha Stadium is being developed for primary usage by Union Omaha, a professional soccer team that is a member of USL League One. The team was formed in 2019 and previously played at Werner Park in Papillion, Nebraska, before moving to Morrison Stadium in Omaha in 2025.[1] Union Omaha previously attempted to construct a stadium in January 2025.[2] However, they later pulled out the following year to find a better site.[3] In November 2025, Union Omaha announced that it would be going forward with new plans to build a stadium North of Downtown Omaha on a site previously belonging to Union Pacific.[4] The stadium will be developed in partnership with the City of Omaha and will be built as a part of a mixed-use development.

Construction

Union Omaha Stadium is expected to begin construction in 2026. It would be built as a part of a mixed-use development and is expected to begin construction in 2026.[5] Construction is expected to be completed by 2028. Construction will be financed through the Sports Arena Facilities Financing Assistance Act. However, Governor Jim Pillen, who has majority vote of the SAFFAA board, stated that he would not give approval of any project until next June.[6] In February 2026, Union Omaha Stadium officially received approval from the Omaha planning department board.[7]

Design

Union Omaha Stadium will be a professional soccer stadium located in North Downtown Omaha, Nebraska, United States. The stadium was designed by HOK and Hines. The stadium will have a maximum legal capacity of 6,500 people, which can be extended to 8,000.[8][9] The stadium will be owned by the City of Omaha. It will be operated by an affiliate of Union Omaha, Downtown Soccer Stadium, Inc.[10]
