A satellite event of the Wikimedia Hackathon. At this event, attendees will be guided by experienced MediaWiki contributors in making their first technical contribution. Learn how contributing to open source can (still!) bolster your career as a developer. For established developers, this is a chance to hang out with your people!
Event details
- When and Where: May 3rd, 1-6pm in the Mission District, San Francisco (address upon registration)
- Food and beverages will be provided.
- Bring your own laptop.
- No previous experience of developing for MediaWiki required.

Wikimedia Developer Portal: Includes resource on how to begin technical contributions, how to connect with the community and get help
Gerrit tutorial: This tutorial explains how to install Git and use it to create and modify change requests in Gerrit (used for web based code review)
Phab tutorial: Phabricator is like an open-source Jira, used for software bug reports, feature requests, and planning work.
