James Buchal

American lawyer From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

James Buchal was chair of the Multnomah County, Oregon Republican Party.[1] He won the Republican nomination for Oregon Attorney General in 2012 on a write-in campaign,[2] but lost in the general election.[3] He ran unsuccessfully for the United States Congress in 2014.[4] He has spoken strongly in favor of U.S. president Donald Trump.[3] He has served as a lawyer for the far right group Patriot Prayer[5][6] and against gun control walkouts at Portland Public Schools,[7] has spoken on national television against Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt,[8] A statement Buchal made on a campaign website in 2014 has been rated "false" by PolitiFact.[4]

He earned degrees from Harvard College (BA), Yale Law School (JD), and Yale School of Management (MBA).[9]
