Kunwer Sachdev, also known as the Inverter Man of India,[1][2][3] is an Indian entrepreneur and businessperson. He founded Su-Kam Power Systems Ltd in 1998, establishing one of India’s early organised manufacturers of inverter and power-backup systems.[4] He ceased his formal association with the company in 2018.

He is also the mentor of Su-Vastika, an Indian power backup provider started by his wife, Khushbhoo Sachdev, in 2019.[5][6] He is also active as a mentor and industry advisor, including association with startup and investor networks such as Delhi Angels.[7]
He is also a member of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority, a government agency in Gurugram, Haryana, India.[8]
Early life
Kunwer Sachdev was born to the late Krishan Lal Sachdeva, a section officer in the Indian Railways.[9]
Education
Kunwar Sachdev completed his primary education at a government school in Delhi's Punjabi Bagh. He had wanted to become a doctor since childhood, but he became a businessman.[10]
After completing his intermediate education, Sachdev joined Hindu College in Delhi and graduated with a degree in Statistics. After this, he obtained the degree of Bachelor of Laws from the University of Delhi.[11][12][13][14]

Sachdev has been featured in several books on Indian entrepreneurship. He appears in Connect the Dots by Rashmi Bansal, which highlights self-made entrepreneurs without formal business education. His brand Su-Kam is covered in Booming Brands by Harsh Pamnani, focusing on innovative Indian companies. He is also featured in Making Breakthrough Innovation Happen by Porus Munshi (2009), which includes Su-Kam's inverter technology as one of India's notable innovations.[citation needed]
Television appearances
Indian journalist Richa Anirudh interviewed Kunwer Sachdev during IBN Khabar's show Zindagi Live.[15] He was also interviewed for ET Now's show Tee Time, where he talked about his supposed "success mantra".[16]
Awards
Kunwer Sachdev was awarded the 'Entrepreneur of the Year 2011' at the Entrepreneur India Awards.[17] He has been awarded one of 'India's Most Respected Entrepreneurs' by Hurun, a media publishing group.[18]
