Mesacanthidae is a family of fish that existed during the Devonian in Northwestern Europe.[1] It is part of the order Acanthodiformes, and includes the genera of Mesacanthus, Lodeacanthus, Melanacanthus, Teneracanthus, and Promesacanthus.[2][3]
