Meshchovsky District

District in Kaluga Oblast, Russia From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Meshchovsky District (Russian: Мещо́вский райо́н) is an administrative^[1] and municipal^[4] district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Kaluga Oblast, Russia. It is located in the center of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,237.54 square kilometers (477.82 sq mi).^[3] Its administrative center is the town of Meshchovsk.^[6] As of the 2021 Census, the total population of the district was 11,529, with the population of Meshchovsk accounting for 33.0% of that number.^[6]
