The Noche Buena mine is one of the largest silver mines in Mexico and in the world.[1] The mine is located in the center of the country in Zacatecas.[1] The mine has estimated reserves of 1 million oz of gold and 32.4 million oz of silver.[1] Noche Buena translates into English literally as "Good Night", but is typically the term used for the Christmas Eve holiday in Latin American cultures.[2]
