Biography
Early life
Lyakhov was born on 10 January 1994 in Tyumen, where he lived for the first year and a half.[1] His father, Alexey Nikolayevich Lyakhov (10 May 1964 – 18 May 1995), was a former criminal and a member of the Tyumen organized crime group "Desyatka" ("The Ten"); his mother is Tatyana Nikolayevna Lyakhova. Due to his father’s involvement in organized crime, the family moved to Budapest.[1] He also has a brother, Dmitry Anatolyevich Zaytsev.
Lyakhov studied at the Russian Embassy School in Hungary, where he met rapper Feduk,[2] whose father worked as a physical education teacher.[1] Due to misconduct toward a technology teacher, Lyakhov was expelled. He later transferred to a Hungarian school, which he graduated from with difficulty because of the language barrier. According to Lyakhov, his charisma sometimes helped him succeed.[1]
After graduating, he worked as a bartender in a bar in Budapest.[1]
Career
In his youth, Lyakhov listened to Russian rap groups such as Rynochnye otnosheniya, Chyornaya ekonomika, and Kasta, as well as international artists 50 Cent and Eminem. With friends, he freestyled in a made-up language and recorded his first track at the age of eight. Between ages 14 and 16, rap was only a hobby.
He began to pursue music seriously on the advice of Feduk and members of the collective RNDM Crew. His first released track, "1000 Freestyle", appeared on 16 April 2017 on VKontakte. In an interview for vDud, Feduk mentioned that OG Buda and Big Baby Tape were among his top Russian rappers.
He gained recognition after Feduk mentioned him in 2018 during an interview with Yury Dud, calling him one of the three most promising Russian rappers alongside Big Baby Tape.
On 3 July 2018, Buda released the single "Tourlife" — a tribute to XXXTentacion’s Moonlight — which significantly expanded his fan base. That same year, through Obladaet, he met rapper Platina, with whom he later collaborated.
His debut EP, Sweet Dreams (with Platina), was released on 25 October 2018, followed by his first music video It’s Not Love (featuring Platina) on 21 November 2018, with Feduk appearing in a cameo.
In 2021, OG Buda played Yelisey in the TV series Pushkin’s Tales. For Adults.[3]
In 2022, he was included in Forbes Russia magazine’s 30 Under 30 list in the “Music” category.[4]
