Olteț

The Olteț is a right tributary of the river Olt in Romania.[1][2] It discharges into the Olt in Fălcoiu.[3] Its total length is 185 km (115 mi), and its drainage basin area is 2,663 km2 (1,028 sq mi).[2][4]

Archeological sites

Grăunceanu site in the Olteț River Valley is currently the oldest place where presence of hominins have been discovered in Europe. Fossils found here are estimated to be around 1.95 million years old.[5][6]
