Peter Gwinn

Peter Gwinn is an American comedy writer, improviser, and playwright known for his work on The Colbert Report and NPR's Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!.[1][2] He co-wrote the stage comedy Twist Your Dickens with Bobby Mort[3] and wrote the holiday musical Moulin Scrooge.[4][5]

Career
Gwinn was a writer for The Colbert Report,[6] contributing to the show's Emmy Award–winning writing.[7][8] The program received a Peabody Award during his tenure.[9]
Gwinn later wrote for NPR's comedy news quiz Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!.[10] In Chicago improv, he co-founded the musical improv group Baby Wants Candy[11] and helped found the Home Comedy Theater.[12]
Gwinn co-wrote the stage comedy Twist Your Dickens, a comic adaptation of A Christmas Carol, with Bobby Mort.[13][14] The production was staged at Chicago's Goodman Theatre.[15]
He also wrote the holiday stage musical Moulin Scrooge, a mash-up of A Christmas Carol and Moulin Rouge, and appeared in the production.[16][17]
Gwinn is also the author of Group Improvisation: The Manual of Ensemble Improv Games, an instructional book on ensemble improvisation.[18]
Education
Gwinn attended Carleton College, where he participated in the student improv group Cujokra.[19]
