Pilar Secada (Spanish pronunciation: [piˈlar seˈcada]) is a Peruvian architect, former musician and actress known for her role as Angelita Pasco ("La Momia") in the Peruvian television series Mil oficios (2001). She later pursued a professional career in architecture and real-estate design.

Early life
Pilar Secada was born to Doris Martínez and lived with her parents in El Koari in the central eastern Amazonian region of Peru with an Asháninka tribe as part of their community.[1] She later moved to Lima with her daughter, Daniela Lalita,[2] and her mother, and relocated to New York once her daughter reached adulthood.[3][4]
Career
Music career
During the 1990s, Secada played in several reggae and fusion bands,[5][4][6] including as a chorist in La Liga del Sueño,[7][8][9] a Peruvian rock band from Lima that was associated with members of the theatre and television comedy troupe Patacláun.[10] The group included performers such as Pelo Madueño and Johanna San Miguel.[7][10][11] Secada contributed vocals to the band's 1996 album Por Tierra, including choir vocals on the track "Buscando a Mrs. Appleton".[12]
Acting career
In 2001, Secada appeared in the Peruvian television miniseries Mil oficios, produced by Efraín Aguilar for Panamericana Televisión. The show became one of the most successful comedy series on Peruvian television and is often regarded as a precursor to later productions such as Así es la vida and Al fondo hay sitio.[7] She portrayed the character Angelita Pasco, nicknamed "La Momia".[7] Secada also appeared in the Peruvian film Mariposa negra (2006), where she played an English teacher.[13] In October 2017, she appeared alongside artists, actors, and models including Grace Hartzel, Carly Mark, Martine Gutierrez, Sasha Frolova, Lida Fox in Madre: A Disruptive Environment, a multimedia performance created by her daughter and presented in New York.[14]
Architecture and professional career
After her brief involvement in television and music, Secada became an architect and works in real estate design.[7][15]
