Rhodobacter is a genus of bacteria in the family Rhodobacteraceae.[3] The most famous species of Rhodobacter are Rhodobacter sphaeroides and Rhodobacter capsulatus, which are used as model organisms to study bacterial photosynthesis.[citation needed]
