  • Pripyat amusement park, Pripyat (1986) – was supposed to open on 1 May 1986 for the May Day celebrations, but was abandoned after the Chernobyl disaster on 26 April 1986. The park's Ferris wheel, which is currently standing but not operating,[11] serves as a poignant reminder of the massive human effect of the disaster.[12]
