Simithacılı is a neighbourhood (mahalle) in the municipality and district of Tarsus, Mersin Province, Turkey.[1] As of 2022, the neighbourhood had a population of 86 residents.[1] It is located within the Çukurova region (historically known as Cilicia) and lies approximately 25 kilometres (16 mi) from Tarsus and 58 kilometres (36 mi) from Mersin city centre.[2] The D.400 state highway passes roughly 13 kilometres (8 mi) north of the settlement, and the Çukurova Regional Airport, currently under construction, is situated to its west.[3] The economy of the area is primarily based on agriculture, with cotton being the principal crop cultivated by local farmers.[4]
