I just deleted the page Antanas Pocius (edit | visual edit | history) · Article talk (edit | history) · Watch, which was tagged with WP:CSD#G6 as uncontroversial, with the explanation: "because it is holding up a page move or page history merge that is non-controversial or consensual, for instance reversing a redirect, or removing a disambiguation page that only points to a single article. The page to be moved to this name is Antanas Pocius (1913–1983)." But after I did so, I realized that it might not have been so uncontroversial. Since you were the editor who introduced the disambiguation, I thought I'd let you know. — Sebastian 01:41, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

There are as many as 4 people holding such name and surname - 3 choirmasters (,, and 1 politician (), so I think it is fairly enough to create an article for disambiguation, despite the fact that there are no articles about the other three (so far). -- Wisconsus ^TALK|^things 13:19, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for the clarification. I saw that there were several red links, but these have been around for several years without any of the articles ever been created. This seems to indicate that the others are considerably less notable. In such a case, what we usually do is keep the simple name for the most notable one, and only modify the less notable names. With dabs, notability isn't the issue - in what is essentially an index of English WP pages, there is no point in adding entries with no articles (exceptions are included at MOS:DABRL). When/if articles are created, then a dab can be created, but there is no point until then. Boleyn2 (talk) 20:20, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

A lack of notability? I do not think so

I disagree that the notability of this article is insufficient. While it is true there is a lack of English-language sources, Antanas Pocius has been mentioned in the newspapers (one article is not digitised, so I did not include it) and in the Lithuanian choirmasters' encyclopedia. In other terms, while he remains unknown in the English-speaking world, he is not a minor figure among the choirmasters, organists and composers in Lithuania, particularly in the Samogitian region. --Viskonsas (talk) 13:01, 14 June 2025 (UTC)
