Declaration of COI and request for changes to page

![]() | This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest was declined. [see below] |
• Explanation of issue: We would like to detail our new Corporate Social Responsibility initiative that was launched in 2019 to inform readers. • References supporting change: https://www.bloomberg.com/press-releases/2019-06-27/aviva-canada-encourages-canadians-to-take-back-our-roads-in-the-launch-of-its-new-social-impact-platform-focused-on-road-safety, https://www.aviva.ca/en/press-releases/2019/take-back-our-roads/, https://takebackourroads.ca/en/about-aviva-take-back-our-roads/ • Information to be added: Please add new section:
Corporate Responsibility
In 2019, Aviva Canada established a social impact platform called Take Back Our Roads aimed at reducing the number of fatalities and injuries caused by traffic collisions on Canadian roads. Working with local governments and various strategic partners - the platform will make a number of significant data-driven funding investments across Canada to create a lasting impact and improve safety for all road users.

- NAP2014, thank you for using the request edit process. Please see neutrality. Wikipedia does not tolerate promotion of any kind, and that is all this is. If you want to promote your company you should try elsewhere. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 23:18, 19 April 2020 (UTC)
- Justlettersandnumbers Thanks for your advice. The intent is not for promotional purposes - only to ensure the page displays accurate information about the organization. Most of the content is outdated and I am looking to also edit of other parts of the article to ensure that it reflects current and accurate information about the organization. If you feel the proposed edit in question appears promotional in your view I am happy to receive your suggestions such that it is promotional, only informative. Thank you.
NAP2014 (talk) 19:06, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
- NAP2014, if our page has grave errors or omissions of fact, you may ask for corrections here, citing independent reliable sources (i.e., with no connection to the company) for any change you propose. Edit requests that are concise (say, 100 words or under) are most likely to receive attention. But if all you want to do is promote some pie-in-the-sky "initiative" that might perhaps result in some unquantified benefit at an undetermined time in the future, then this is not the place – please see WP:CRYSTAL. NB: road safety is easily and effectively increased by measures such as virus lockdown or a total ban on sales of alcohol. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:30, 20 April 2020 (UTC)

Hello Wikipedians,
I used the template provided by Wikipedia, for the information above. I am a current employee of this organization and have declared COI here. I have proposed the updates above on the CEO information to reflect the current, but please feel free to edit accordingly.
Appreciate if you could review and update. Kindly advise if you require anything else.
Many thanks for your help! Matchaccino (talk) 04:33, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
Partly done: Added the new text and updated the infobox at the top of the page. I've removed the info about Jason Storah as that's more suited for the UK page, however I've kept the information about Garrad as it is historical so should remain, but I've updated it to say she stepped down to return to the UK so that it is up-to-date and accurate. - @Encoded I have closed this COI request. If you think it still needs work feel free to let me know and reopen the request. Mustbeotherwise (talk) 02:58, 26 January 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for implementing the update to the CEO information. I would also request if you could edit the "Partnerships" Section as both partnerships with Tennis Canada and MLSE have ceased. I will share some reference links by tomorrow. Again, many thanks for your help! Matchaccino (talk) 15:47, 4 February 2026 (UTC)

"Since 2015, Aviva Canada has been a partner of Tennis Canada and sponsor of the Rogers Cup tournament. In 2017, Aviva Canada formed a partnership with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) to launch Toronto Raptors Insurance and Toronto Maple Leafs Insurance which covers home and auto insurance."
- Reason for the change: These partnerships have ceased already.
- References supporting change: I'm afraid I couldn't find any references for MLSE but below are a couple of links regarding the partnership with Tennis Canada ending in 2025 (10-year agreement announced in June 2015)

Question: I feel like it would make more sense to just describe those partnerships in the past tense rather than just remove them entirely. Thoughts? Discourses on Livvy (talk · contribs) 07:48, 7 April 2026 (UTC)
