Pandeys
This pair of edits seemed odd, so I've removed the two people. Perhaps a disinterested party would care to readd these two people.
Much better: Only list people who already have articles. -- Hoary (talk) 15:56, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Notable people from Azamgarh
As is clearly explained in the hidden text on the article edit page:-
"This article is about the Municipality of Azamgarh, not the District, nor the Division. Please only include people from the Municipality"
We have three articles:-
People not from Azamgarh itself, but from other towns in Azamgarh District should be listed there. This includes:-
- Rahul Sankrityayan - from Pandaha Village, Rani Ki Sarai town, Azamgarh District not from Azamgarh
- Ayodhya Prasad Upadhyay Nizamabad, Azamgarh District not from Azamgarh
- Shyam Narayan Pandey - Dumraon village, Maunath Bhanjan (Mau district) (although Azamgarh district was reconfigured) not from Azamgarh
- Laxmi Narayan Mishra - from Basti, Maunath Bhanjan (Mau district), (although Azamgarh district was reconfigured) not from Azamgarh
There may be more people from the district rather than Azamgarh itself, in which case these need to be moved as well. - Arjayay (talk) 16:22, 2 October 2014 (UTC)
- User:Vinodtiwari2608 has, very helpfully, pointed out that there are more names that should also be moved from this page to Azamgarh district these are:-
- Shaikh Shamim Ahmed - born in small town of Sudanipur (Shudnipur), in Azamgarh district.
- Kaifi Azmi - born in village of Mizwaa(n) in Azamgarh
- Hamiduddin Farahi - born in village Phreha in the district of Azamgarh
- Iqbal Suhail - born in village Badheria, Azamgarh
- However, 2 of these names have references showing that, although not born in Azamgarh itself, they did live there later in life, so these can remain.
- I have previously added the 6 relevant names to Azamgarh District so they now need to be deleted from this article. - Arjayay (talk) 18:55, 3 October 2014 (UTC)

Proposal to Expand the History Section
Hello everyone, I’ve noticed that the History section on the Azamgarh page is quite brief and could benefit from additional details, especially regarding the region’s role during the British colonial period, including the 1857 uprising. I’m considering adding sourced information from historical texts and government archives to provide a more comprehensive overview. Krishnpriya123 (talk) 15:47, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
"Request to add S S Rai under notable People"
Hello editors,
I would like to suggest adding S. S. Rai (Delhi-based lawyer and author) to the Notable people section of the Azamgarh article.
Reason for inclusion:
Literary Contributions: • Author of ‘‘Witnessing the Sacred: Powerful Affirmations for Eternal Happiness and Success’’ (2023). • Praised by ‘‘The Asian Review’’ as “an outstanding self-help book that can truly change your life” (Asian Review, 2023).
• Positively reviewed by ‘‘Books Fond’’ (Books Fond, 2023) and ‘‘Kevein Books & Reviews’’ (Kevein Reviews, 2023). • Listed on Goodreads with an average rating of 4.7/5 (approx. 80 reviews). • Verified via Amazon India.
•Named as one of the “Top Qp Must-Read Authors Shaping Literature in 2025” by ‘‘The Literary Titans’’ ().
Legal Contributions:
• Served as "Senior Panel Counsel for the Government of India" before the Delhi High Court—confirmed in official appointment order (Ministry of Law & Justice, 2023). • Featured in ‘‘SuperLawyer’’ for insights on environmental law and its growing scope (SuperLawyer, 2024).
Thought Leadership & Education: • Frequent speaker at national and international legal forums, with research indexed in HeinOnline.
Proposed entry under Notable People
• ‘S S Rai’ – Delhi-based lawyer, former Senior Panel Counsel for the Government of India at the Delhi High Court, and author of the self-help book ‘‘Witnessing the Sacred: Powerful Affirmations for Eternal Happiness and Success’’ (2023).
