Semi-protected edit request on 23 December 2025

I suggest replacing the image for batman with one of the following:

Batman_in_Justice_League_TV_series https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Batman_(circa_2020).png https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Batman_(Batsuit_-_circa_2010).jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Batman_(Batman_-_Arkham_Asylum).jpg

I feel as if, due to the rain and such, it is immensely hard to really "see" batman in it MeatballIsCool (talk) 04:25, 23 December 2025 (UTC)

I don't know why that video description offers a Creative Commons license when it also says, "All DC related characters and elements © & ™DC Comics." I'm hesitant to use anything from a YouTube video that has an unclear license. Rjjiii (talk) 04:32, 23 December 2025 (UTC)

AI tag

Hi - I have tagged this article as likely containing AI generated text. This is about most of the article "splits," such as this, this, and this, from 2024. The edit summaries here claims they are simply splitting off content, but what isn't mentioned is that they introduce what appear to be summaries of the old content, and those summaries appear to be AI-generated, based on various WP:AISIGNS.

  • These various adaptations and reinterpretations highlight the versatility and enduring appeal of Batman as a character, allowing for a rich exploration of his mythology across different narratives and settings. -- Superficial analyses, promotional tone, AI vocabulary, all in one sentence, no citation. No such claim was in the original version, it simply described the adaptations without editorializing about them.
  • which delved into the complexities of heroism and villainy -- Obviously we have "delved" here -- still common in LLM text in 2024, and there's another later in the paragraph -- and it's also not an accurate rewrite of the original text ("redefined the character's origins")
  • The chilling return of the Joker in "Death of the Family" explored the intricate relationships within Batman's extended family of allies and adversaries... - Non-neutral ("chilling"), not an accurate rewrite of the original text ("the Joker returns to Gotham and attacks each member of the Batman family"), and AI-esque ("intricate relationships," "ever-evolving landscape," etc)

There are other such examples -- this is just a spot check to demonstrate -- and I have not fact-checked any of this (not that there were many citations to fact-check against). All of that needs to be done. Gnomingstuff (talk) 18:17, 5 January 2026 (UTC)

"extended family" definitely changes the meaning in a way that is not accurate. Pinging Lililolol for input. Rjjiii (talk) 05:09, 6 January 2026 (UTC)
This is so old, omg. I did use AI to summarize the publication history before moving it into its own page here: Publication history of Batman. The article was too long, it was over 10,000 words, so I split it. I don’t encourage using AI, but that’s what I did a while ago, sorry :)
+ I was already planning to work on this article, but I lost interest. Sorry again. Lililolol (talk) 05:22, 6 January 2026 (UTC)
Hi, the older version of this article from August 2024 is long, but I guess that's not as bad as having an AI summary. Should I revert my edit to this version? From August 2024! Lililolol (talk) 18:35, 6 January 2026 (UTC)
Thanks for responding and being upfront. No, I wouldn't revert a couple years' worth of edits. Rjjiii (talk) 05:06, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
I would suggest copyediting the summary to use your own words. There is no harm in using AI strictly as a tool for assistance, so long as any claims generated with the prompts are thoroughly verified and vetted by the contributor using said methods. Thanks for the reply. This is exactly why I didn't revert the edits, however, the summaries do need rewriting for reasons mentioned above. Gnomingstuff (talk) 18:22, 12 January 2026 (UTC)

Batgirls missing

I checked both allies and sidekicks, the only batgirl mentioned is stephanie brown, and thats just because of her time as Robin. Barbara Gordon is the first batgirl, and while she has moved on to Oracle, shes still often the one behind the cowl when Batgirl is mentioned in media. Even as Oracle she is an important part of Batman’s team in a support role. Also Cassandra Cain should probably be listed too. I also don’t see Batwoman (Kate Kane) anywhere? Was she written out of continuity? ~2026-14385-62 (talk) 23:59, 5 March 2026 (UTC)

As far as I know, Batwoman is still around. Anyway, see if there are relevant sources concerning the connections of the various Batgirls to Batman in the main article Batgirl. Dimadick (talk) 10:24, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
