Should we reorganize the article?
There are some early blurbs about his assault cases, but those are in the first paragraph, and don't get into full detail until the last paragraph of the intro section. Should we move all cases about sexual assault to said later paragraph? Haskeymorrison (talk) 06:00, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
Whole lot of unsubstantiated claims.
Two things. There's an enormous amount here about claims of sex offenses made decades after the claimed event. I'm not convinced that's ok. We have a statute of limitations for a reason (for several reasons, actually). There is also the fact that memory is plastic and fallible. It may be the case that these victims are remembering correctly, it may be the case that they aren't. Shouldn't some of this counter-argument be present here? I can't possibly be the first person to object to the one-sided coverage of this issue. The other thing is, if I understand correctly, his conviction was overturned. That means he was not "convicted" as we would reasonably understand the term.~2025-31506-44 (talk) 18:14, 21 November 2025 (UTC)
- Many institutions connected to Cosby have publicly acknowledged the abuse allegations and consequently severed ties with him, primarily by revoking honorary degrees and removing his name from scholarships/buildings. These actions represent a formal institutional acknowledgment that the reported conduct was inconsistent with their values. While Cosby has consistently denied the allegations, his 2005 deposition, in which he admitted to obtaining Quaaludes with the intent of giving them to women he wanted to have sex with, was a turning point in public and institutional opinion. --~2025-37349-71 (talk) 09:17, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- There's a difference between a conviction being overturned and being found innocent. At no point was Cosby found innocent, the conviction was overturned on a technicality. --~2026-42741-7 (talk) 15:31, 20 January 2026 (UTC)
"Starting in 2014, dozens of allegations of sexual assault were made against him. By 2018, these had ended his career and sharply diminished his status as a pop culture icon."
This sentence should be part of the first paragraph in the lead. It's far too short to be a separate paragraph ~2026-42741-7 (talk) 15:28, 20 January 2026 (UTC)
