Famines during British Raj and the outlook of British government

British Raj and their systematic loot, exploitation, torture and treachery lead to many famines, epidemics that today's world can't even imagine. Other that highlighting colonial leaders injustice and specifically Churchill's deathly attitude to the Indians should be highlighted. This article highlighted their medical college building nature. ~2026-68949-9 (talk) 08:53, 1 February 2026 (UTC)

Preceded From

British Raj took powers from the hands of Company rule by the Government of India Act 1858, by which powers was transferred from company executive to the direct British crown and not from Mughal Empire. So in my opinion, British India or British Raj only preceded from Company rule alone. So only Company rule must be present. Curious man123 (talk) 03:29, 5 February 2026 (UTC)

To cite Wolpert or not to cite Wolpert

@RegentsPark: Thanks for adding a citation regarding the death of Subhas Chandra Bose, but problems remain. First, I don't see anything on page 2 of Bayly & Harper (2007) about Bose. Did you mean p. 21? Second, Wolpert (2006) explicitly says: "(In May 1945, Bose would fly out of Saigon on an overloaded Japanese plane, headed for Taiwan, which crash-landed and burned. Bose suffered third-degree burns and died in the hospital on Formosa.)" His "May 1945" clashes with Bayly & Harper. Should Wikipedia cite Wolpert at all on this topic? One could argue that, his focus being firmly on Mountbatten, he is not authoritative on Bose's death. His one paragraph about Bose and the INA is almost an aside. --Worldbruce (talk) 07:17, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

Bose died when the plane was taking off for Tokyo. Wolpert is definitely wrong since Bose flew Singapore-Saigon-Formosa in August. Perhaps @Fowler&fowler: can weigh in about Wolpert?RegentsPark (comment) 14:47, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

Adding flag and emblem

The national flag and the national emblem of the British Raj aren't added in the infobox. I think they're important that as it certifies the imperial authority and a union-form of government between the presidencies, provinces and the princely states. The flag and emblem was also used a symbol of power on various territories, ships, buildings etc.

Also, the princely states had their flags to be flown along with the flag of the Raj, as a symbol of suzerainty and respect.

So, they're mutually important in this page and must be added. AnbareeV (talk) 03:33, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
