As stated in my edit summary, "authoritarian" is not a government type. It does not describe any particular aspect of a government's structure or organization. A government can behave in an authoritarian manner, but the word does not indicate any specific information about how a government is structured or how it functions—the page you link does a good job of illustrating this. Moxy, I apologize if I'm irritating you, especially since I really enjoy discussions involving you and I would like that feeling to be mutual—but are you reading the sources you're posting here? The worldpopulationreview joint repeats over and over there is no specific structural or functional properties described by authoritarian, and this entry does much the same! I do not think we should not use this word or cite sources that use it in analysis, but it is simply not referring to anything in particular as a government type.Remsense ‥ 论 04:56, 13 January 2025 (UTC)

We'll have to simply disagree as many sources out there would be beneficial to our readers. We should provide our readers with academic publications...... To be clear: I would support a label for the government that incorporates minority ethnic dictatorship, following another article by Harkness.^[1] This term far more clearly refers to specific structures and mechanisms within the government.Remsense ‥ 论 05:59, 13 January 2025 (UTC)

I know. I have already given my position, and you have not really engaged with it. I am attempting to be as level-headed as possible here when I reiterate that your conception of what should go in the infobox—e.g. what are the key facts of a topic, to be communicated at a glance—is far beyond what many experienced editors think it is capable of containing, in line with its purpose. The article currently has Template:Use British English, but English is one of the official languages of Cameroon and Cameroonian English is a recognised variety. Because of this, I've created Template:Use Cameroonian English to specify variety per MOS:TIES, and I will add this to the article. Pineapple Storage (talk) 14:22, 29 July 2025 (UTC)

I don't think the issue is so deep down we need a FAR to patch it up, as we just have two short claims that need sourcing. However Cameroon is completely out of my scope, and we're in a holiday season so I doubt that a random person will come up and fix it.
