Content
If you have issues with removal of content, please discuss them here. Be aware that any objections need to be based in Wikipedia policies on article content and scope, the Manual of Style, as well as the general guidelines for articles on schools. Keep in mind: school articles are about the school itself, not details about every person who has attended or worked for the school or for every team or organization at the school. Articles should give a thorough, but general, idea about how the school developed, its facilities and campus, academics and curriculum, demographics, athletic offerings and accomplishments (only team state titles and runners-up should be listed, though), and links to existing articles on notable alumni and staff.
In general, any kind of "scandal" section or mention will be removed unless they are placed within proper context in the history section. 'Proper context' means that the event significantly influenced the school's development (such as causing major policy changes), or otherwise received significant national or regional media coverage (more than an article or two over a few weeks). If not, then it's not appropriate for the school article. Simply having verification does not equal need for inclusion (see WP:NOTNEWS).
Also, if you'd like the infobox to be for the district, you are welcome to create an article for Southington Local School District. This article is about the high school, which is specifically defined by NCES and by the district as grades 9–12, even though all grades are housed in the same building. Please note the difference between the school building and the school organization (this article is about the school organization, but does include a section about the former building since it's listed on the NRHP). The enrollment number of 111 listed in the infobox is from NCES and is for grades 9–12. The district's total enrollment is 413. -- JonRidinger (talk) 19:50, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

Subheadings
To make sure it's clear about my edit to the subheadings: I didn't say you "supposedly can't have them", my edit summary said "only when necessary". Be sure to check out MOS:HEADINGS, in particular MOS:SECTIONSTYLE, as well as MOS:BODY and MOS:OVERSECTION which deals with the use of subheadings: "Very short sections and subsections clutter an article with headings and inhibit the flow of the prose. Short paragraphs and single sentences generally do not warrant their own subheadings."
In this case, it was more a matter of we didn't need separate "Athletics facilities" and "Southington Athletic Complex" headings just for one very short section on the school's athletic complex since it's already under the "athletics" subheading. Even if you expand the section to include the school's gym and any other facilities, it's unlikely that it would need additional subheadings.
Also, I removed "Athletics" from "Athletics facilities" since it was already a subheading under "Athletics". In a typical outline format having "Athletics facilities" under "Athletics" is redundant, the same way we have the subheading of "State championships" and not "Athletics state championships" and "History" instead of "Chalker High School history". Any subheading under "Athletics" is assumed to be about athletics (see MOS:SECTIONSTYLE). -- JonRidinger (talk) 18:37, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
