Smith or Harding
Does anyone happen to know where the name Harding comes from?
I went to see the French wikipedia and there the name was Smith.Dionne Jinn 06:54, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
- The movies Mysterious Island (1951 film) and Mysterious Island (1961 film) use name Harding. I have no idea where it came from, though. Samohyl Jan 19:05, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
Harding comes from William Henry Giles Kingston's translation. The translation is unfaithful to the original novel, abridging and changing details. It was standard for many generations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.100.116.118 (talk) 01:50, 9 October 2015 (UTC)
