Area

What is the area figure for "city" measuring in the infobox. Dubai doesn't have a local government apart from the emirate, so the only measurements you can take are a statistical "urban" or settlement area and then the area of the emirate. "City" should be removed as the descriptor. Criticalthinker (talk) 13:39, 14 December 2025 (UTC)

There is no 544 sq km figure in the citation, so I will soon remove that. On page 22 of the source, the only relevant figure is for the "urban" statistical area (1,491 sq km). You might add the 206 sq km "peri-urban" area to that figure, but that is it. Again, there is no "city" because Dubai doesn't operate a local government; it's all administered under the state. The only comparable thing would be if the Dubai "Municipality" has some set boundary in which it operates, but I can't find any information on that. Population figures given don't seem to be defined by Dubai statistics agency and certainly not for the area measurements I've added to the infobox. Components of the "Metro" would be measured by the sectors included, and that is not all of them in the Emirate, which I'm guessing the figure currently in the infobox includes. I've got to go back and see if population figures are given for the areas defined in the infobox. So the density figures especially need to be removed. There does not appear to be any measurement of the physical built-up area. It'd seem the lowest we could go would be measurement by the statistical "sectors" which include territory beyond the built up area. Dubai–Sharjah–Ajman metropolitan area seems to be something larger than a metropolitan area. What the statistical agency for Dubai gives for the "metropolitan area" in the numbers I found for the area are based on the emirate's sectors, not whole emirates. Dubai Frame

POV to call it a "marvel" its a large picture frame. the largest, but its not a picture frame if it doesnt have a picture in it. so its a large picture frame like structure.~2026-50443-0 (talk) 16:57, 23 January 2026 (UTC)

Change capital of UAE. Capital is Abu Dhabi and not Dubai. Cortesao (talk) 07:31, 1 March 2026 (UTC)
