I have created a new type of file of the coat of arms on Commons:

I did this because if I edit it, both the flag & the coat of arms, will have the same shade of yellow. Dynamiscool (talk) 13:23, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
Not done: it's not clear what changes you want made. Please detail the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Aston305 (complain/compliment) 19:21, 15 December 2025 (UTC)

Flag of Egypt
The eagle color is not right, please reverse to the old flag design where the eagle was gold.
the Egyptian presidency itself uses the flag with the gold eagle (darker shade of yellow)
you can check the page where it literally uses the flag with gold eagle :https://www.presidency.eg/en/%D9%85%D8%B5%D8%B1/%D9%85%D8%B9%D9%84%D9%88%D9%85%D8%A7%D8%AA-%D8%A3%D8%B3%D8%A7%D8%B3%D9%8A%D8%A9/%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D9%84%D9%85-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%88%D8%B7%D9%86%D9%89/%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D9%84%D9%85-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D8%B5%D8%B1%D9%8A-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AD%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%8A/
not to mention that the Egyptian constitution (article 223) confirms it also that the eagle uses a golden color :
lastly, the Egyptian government uses alot of variations of this eagle, most Organization uses an orange color eagle, others use yellow, and most of them use black outline on the eagle, but for the most part the gold eagle is the main subject, the presidency uses it, the parliament uses it, the head of the government uses it. MohamedHelmyOff (talk) 09:41, 28 January 2026 (UTC)
- I agree with this, Article 223 of the Egyptian Constitution does explicitly define the eagle as 'Golden Yellow' (الأصفر الذهبي), the current one on the article just looks yellow.
- I support reverting to the gold eagle design as it is the only version that is constitutionally verified (WP:V).

North Africa
There is a discussion at Talk:North_Africa#Recent_additions_(January_2026) that could do with more input. Thanks. M.Bitton (talk) 16:06, 1 February 2026 (UTC)
Proposal to update the Lead and Demographics to reflect modern genomic consensus on population continuity.
I am proposing a revision to the Lead and Demographics sections to ensure the article accurately distinguishes between geopolitical Arabization and indigenous ethnic continuity. The current framing relies on 20th-century political definitions that contradict high-resolution genomic data.
1. Lead Revision (Paragraph 1)
- Current: "...Egypt is the most populous country in the Arab world..."
- Proposed: "...Egypt is the most populous nation in the region and a leading member of the Arab League. While officially the Arab Republic of Egypt due to its political and linguistic affiliation, the nation is defined by an indigenous Nile Valley heritage with documented cultural and genetic continuity spanning over six millennia."
2. The Evidence (WP:V)
- Genomic Continuity: Schuenemann et al. (2017) in Nature Communications demonstrated that the 7th-century expansions resulted in a cultural shift, not a demic replacement. The Egyptian genome has remained remarkably stable since the Pharaonic era.
- Haplogroup Dominance: Hassan et al. (2008) confirms that indigenous markers (e.g., Haplogroup E1b1b) remain the demographic majority, while Peninsular Arab markers (J1) are a minority contribution.
3. Historical Methodology As a student focusing on the evolution of the Egyptian language and administrative history, I note that the centuries-long survival of Coptic as the primary tongue proves population stability during the transition to the Islamic era. The "Arab" identifier in Egypt is a result of acculturation, not population turnover.
By adopting this approach, we ensure the article remains a neutral and scientifically accurate resource.
Note: This proposal was drafted with LLM assistance for data synthesis and formatting. All sources and claims have been manually verified by me, the editor.

Establishment section in infobox needs to be cleaned up
Exactly how do the Fatimid Caliphate or the Ayyubids or the Mamluks relate to the establishment of the modern state of Egypt? The only thing that is relevant to modern Egypt is anything from the Declaration of Independence onwards. TheodoresTomfooleries (talk) 17:36, 7 March 2026 (UTC)
Very very poor language.

I want to remove the first "high" in the following sentence in the article, if not change the whole sentence: "Average high temperatures are high in the north but very to extremely high in the rest of the country during summer." If the request is accepted, the sentence will be changed to "Average summer temperatures reach extreme levels throughout the country except in the north due to the Mediterranean climate". This sentence is originally followed by "The cooler Mediterranean winds consistently blow over the northern sea coast, which helps to get more moderated temperatures, especially at the height of the summertime." which I intend to keep unchanged.
ChocolateLemon (talk) 12:44, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
- This likely needs rewriting. Changing the sentence as suggested changes the meaning, as the current sentence likely refers to "high temperatures" meaning the highest temperature reached in a day. Unfortunately there is no source. CMD (talk) 13:13, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
Partly done: I attempted to tweak the phrasing a bit without changing the meaning, I'd appreciate review and feedback on it. I mean, we have to assume "high temperatures are high" refers to temperature highs being heigh right? I heavily dislike trying to fix phrasing without there being an inline source to go off. No way to tell if you're fixing material that someone vibes edited in or actually sourced, in which case you might accidently change the meaning to something unverifiable. ―Maltazarian (talkinvestigate) 13:51, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
- Not setting the request to answered yet is intentional, if anyone wonders. ―Maltazarian (talkinvestigate) 13:52, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
