The result of the move request was: moved. According to Community Consensus it was moved undiscussed and the community is providing a strong argument about moving it, some say per NATDAB, INCDAB along with WP:Natural.
Therefore I will count this as moved. (non-admin closure) Valorrr (lets chat) 02:32, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
Messenger (software) → Facebook Messenger – Should be moved to remove the parenthesis disambiguation, as is acceptable per WP:NATURAL. Formyparty (talk) 01:26, 2 April 2025 (UTC) — Relisting. Frost 12:05, 15 April 2025 (UTC)
- Comment The article was formerly at Facebook Messenger; the current title is the result of an undiscussed move in 2021. @Anoopspeaks: 162 etc. (talk) 04:16, 3 April 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose as the service is not called Facebook Messenger. cookie monster 755 08:51, 3 April 2025 (UTC)
- Support reversion of the undiscussed move. The current title shouldn't even be a primary redirect to this topic, "Messenger" could refer to many things such as MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Hike Messenger and probably more besides. Redirect it to Messenger per WP:INCDAB — Amakuru (talk) 13:18, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Support per NATDAB and INCDAB. – robertsky (talk) 15:23, 11 April 2025 (UTC)
- Support per NATDAB, INCDAB. Some news sources continue to call it Facebook Messenger which confirms this is a good natural disambiguator.--MYCETEAE 🍄🟫—talk 14:29, 16 April 2025 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: not moved. WP:SNOW close. (closed by non-admin page mover) Jeffrey34555 (talk) 19:11, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
Facebook Messenger → Messenger (messaging service) – This is the official name of the service. Since the rebrand of Facebook to Meta, that name has stuck. Interstellarity (talk) 00:46, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose move. "Facebook Messenger" is the obvious WP:COMMONNAME as decided last year. O.N.R. (talk) 13:19, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose. Not as recognizable as the current title and unlikely to be the common name. The proposed title is also ambiguous. WhatsApp Messenger is also owned by Meta, and this article also needs to be distinguished from LAN messenger, BlackBerry Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, etc. Arguably even bike messengers are "messaging services". Dekimasuよ! 11:49, 3 March 2026 (UTC)
- Easy oppose - Per Dekimasu and the proposed title only introduces ambiguity. Accuracy in terms of what something is called is secondary to the ease of access of an article/identification of a subject. signed, Kvinnen (talk) 22:10, 3 March 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose per others. Thanks, Glasspalace (talk • contribs) 07:51, 5 March 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose per O.N.R. and Dekimasu, and also per WP:NATDAB. Arnav Bhate (talk • contribs) 11:22, 7 March 2026 (UTC)
